Move Strong massage therapy options

  • A man having a consultation and reviewing back

    Sports Injury & Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation programs, including exercises, correctional massage, strapping & taping, and more, aim to facilitate a return to sports at a preinjury physical and emotional level while preventing re-injury.

These programs focus on injury-specific rehabilitation, addressing risk factors and identifying the underlying causes of the injury.

Additionally, they prioritise preventing overall deconditioning during the rehabilitation process. Tailored to individual goals, these programs incorporate strengthening exercises, mobilisation techniques, pain relief methods, and functional skill training.

  • A man stretching with joint pain

    Joint Mobilisations & Manual Therapy

Joint mobilisation is a physical therapy technique meant to improve or normalise joint function. It can help decrease pain and improve the range of motion.

The amount and type of force applied to the joint vary, depending on the injury or musculoskeletal pain that is being treated.

Joint mobilisation is not for everyone. It should be avoided in people with osteoarthritis and other inflammatory joint conditions, spinal disk issues, and circulation problems.

There are alternative therapies, such as tissue massage, that may be more helpful.

  • Someone having Kinesio Taping done on their shoulder

    Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping is a therapeutic technique that relieves pain and promotes lymphatic drainage by lifting the skin at a microscopic level. This lifting effect creates space between tissues, reducing inflammation. Through evaluation and assessment, Kinesio Tape is applied in specific ways based on individual needs.

It has versatile applications and can reduce pain, inflammation, aid post-surgical healing, enhance performance, prevent injuries, improve circulation, and support the body's natural healing process.

KT Tape is effective for preventing and treating various muscle and joint injuries, such as sprains, strains, subluxations, and tendonitis, providing support and pain relief without limiting range of motion.

  • A woman having dry cupping therapy done

    Dry Myofascial Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient alternative therapy used in Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures.

Therapists apply glass cups to the skin, creating suction to treat various conditions such as muscle pain, reduced joint movement, headaches, back pain, sciatica, stress, and anxiety. During dry cupping, cups are placed to create a vacuum that lifts soft tissue, increasing blood flow and reducing muscle tension.

The cups can be stationary or moved for a deep tissue massage effect, complementing traditional sports and deep tissue massage. Dry cupping improves circulation, oxygenation, nutrient content, removes stagnant blood and waste products, and initiates the healing process for soft tissue injuries.
